If you feel like something different to your regular gelato haunt, why not try Stix Desserts. Situated on 620 Crown St, Surry Hills. For $4.50 there is a 3 step process: Step 1: Choose a flavour Step 2: Dunk it (white, milk or dark choclate) Step 3: Top it (with either peanuts, hundreds & thousands, coconut, pretzels, oreo etc) If you are undecided on what to choose you are most welcome to sample the flavours. Combo's we tried: Salted caramel flavour with milk chocolate and coconut Panna cotta with milk chocolate and peanuts Blood orange sorbet with dark chocolate and coconut You get given the stix in a little paper carrier in case you spill it everywhere ;P. All three amazing flavours! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. P.s They only take cash! Opening times can be found here: weebl Heard about this place on Instagram but haven't had a chance to visit until now! Hooray! First we went to the wrong end of Dixon St, stupid iPhone map! Finally reached it after refreshing the maps app. Place feels like your in a lab with the staff in lab coats and all the smoke from the liquid nitrogen coming out of the food processors. Line wasn't too long, we ordered the Ferraro Revival and Strawberry, Rosewater Meringue Pie. $8 each Ah YUM! I loved the rosewater flavored meringue on top my refreshing strawberry ice cream. The Ferraro revival comes with a chocolate syringe and a wafer! Brilliant! Love this place! Address is: 43/1 Dixon St, Sydney The Sydney Festival goes from January 9th to the 26th 2014. The festival village is located in Hyde Park, Sydney. Free activities include the Sacrilege (Bouncy Stonehenge) as per picture on left and adults are most welcome :) Although, be warned it only goes for 10 minutes as there is a long line however, its definitely a workout! phew! Box wars, City of Sydney - Lawn Library, Jenga and so on. More details can be found on their website here: http://www.sydneyfestival.org.au/2014/ Food stalls include: Food Society, Jafe Jaffles, Woofys Hot Dogs and speciall crafted sweets from Gelato Messina! For the adults there are 5 bars to choose form including the Rekordelig Gazebo. In addition they have an a huge selection of shows at the The Spiegeltent, Sydney Town Hall, Riverside Theaters in Parramatta. Best to check their website for further info. We got there around 6pm and it was not busy yet, However, when we left at 8pm there was a line for the entrance as they were at capacity. So plan ahead people! Overall a great experience for the family, with friends or just with your partner :) Last Dinner in Melbourne so we decided on somewhere close to the hotel.
We checked out their website and saw they had ice cream sandwiches = sold! We ordered meatball sliders (Beef) and the Balls & All (Chicken) both amazing! For dessert of course we had the whoopie mac which consisted of Ferrero Rocher ice cream between pistachio and ginger biscuit. Drinks we started off with the Aperol Spritz then had the Ramazotti Hot chocolate which consisted of Fine cocoa & milk steamed with amaro ramazotti and fresh mint! Pictures are not the best quality but alas they give you an idea of this cute little bar.
