Catching up with a girlfriend always require a place that isn't too loud so you can hear each and not have to YELL.
Arrived after 6pm and was asked for a reservation? Of course I didn't have one seeing as it was so early! We chose a table on the border of the inside/outside line. The courtyard floor is lined with fake grass, in addition, they have fairy lights all lined up with some displayed in glass jars.
I would have to say the ambiance is casual with relaxed vibe accompanied by some great tunes. We spotted a DJ deck but by the end of the night there was no one playing, probably stuck with the trusty Ipod.
I started with some pear cider and Emma had Prosecco (i think). To eat we had a selection of dumplings ranging from mushroom, prawn, duck and crab. Each had 4 portions. The BBQ duck is amazing! You must get this.
We were content with our starters and decided to leave mains for now till we were more hungry. Instead we filled up with some beautiful Barrosa Shiraz and when then was nearly finished we decided to share the "Kuila Dadai" which is Malaysian style pandan crepes, caramelised coconut, "laughing donuts" and coconut cream ($10). Mouth watering dessert!
Staff are friendly and attentive. Located upstairs on the mezzanine level, below ‘Hugos Lounge . We were surprised it was not packed?! Indeed this is not one of your average dumpling bars but the food is spectacular.

What is Gyoza for those that do not know? Its pretty much a fried dumpling or pot sticker. So if you like yum cha you will love this place!
Located on Bayswater Rd just behind the Coca-Cola sign. Harajuku Gyoza is a happy place and they want you to be "happy in the tummy" as their slogan suggests, even the dumpling on the window has a smiling face! They also mention, you must 'Come in hungry like Godzilla"....:P
They do not take bookings so we rocked up around 7pm and there were few seats at the bar or stand alone tables. This place is great for nibbles, lunch, dinner and groups.
The plates are quirky with different pictures of Japanese themed such as buildings, Harajuku girls, scenery and so fourth. This place does remind me of being in Shinjuku.
Any quirky thing is when someone orders a sake (i think could be umeshu) the waitresses start screaming in Japanese. Quite strange but hilarious at the same time!
To get things rolling we got Kirin on Tap and Rising Sun pale ale then for food:
1 x Grilled pork gyoza (5 pieces) $8
1 x Poached duck gyoza (5 pieces) $8
1 x Vege grilled gyoza (5 pieces) $8
1 x Chilli Chicken Kaarage $9
1 x Edamame beans $4
That was for 2 and that was quite filling! We also did not want to fill up too much because we wanted to try out their desserts! For dessert we got the Nutella Banana gyoza with ice cream ($9 for 3 pieces). It was everything you can expect - warm gooey nutella with bits of banana through it. YUM! Pity there was only 3 :(
I give this place a thumbs up.Definitely will be back to try the sake cocktails and the frozen beer....hmm very interesting.

First visit and it was a success!
Took us a few extra minutes to find it as we went down the wrong end of Dixon St, alas, finally walking through a very crowded food court we were starting to doubt ourselves if the place was even in here! .... and then like magic as we veered down the bend there it was in all its glory!
Tucked away in the corner amongst all various Chinese food outlets.
Small queue, so we got our order in i had the Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Noodle with soft boiled egg and my partner got the BBQ Pork Ramen and gyoza to share.
Wow such a thick garlicy broth with oodles and oodles of noodles! Delicious!
My partner and I both agreed that the flavour of the Garlic Tonkotsu was way better that the BBQ Pork. Gyoza was great too.
Such a cheap and cheerful dinner option. I was indeed noodled out!

I have been here a few times and every single time it has been a treat!
After visiting Salerno Gallery for the Sally Higgens - Down the rabbit hole exhibition (just across the road) we proceeded to Pastabella with hungry bellies !
The staff are friendly, although they can take time to come to you to take your order but that is a good thing as sometimes you need that extra time to decide from their vast selection of pasta or the special menu items. Too many good options!
Last visit i trialed the Fettuccine Al Gamberi - Yum!
This place is BYO which is an added bonus.
Desserts are as delicious - try the sticky date!
If you are in the Glebe area and looking for food, look no further! Reasonably priced for their authentic Italian food.
Good food, wine and company always makes a night memorable.

First visit last Saturday and so far I was impressed.
We arrived after 9pm and there was no queue of hipster peoples.... so straight down the stairs we dashed as the bouncy was busy talking to a cop i think the convenient store a few doors down may have just been robbed! Yikes
Place was half full (everyone else was probably still at the Mardi Gras parade) and the lovely couches were empty so we made a beeline for the bar. Was not in the mood for cocktails so i ordered a glass of Shiraz from a friendly blonde waitress.
Thank goodness it was palatable as i would of been disappointed for getting a glass liquid that resembled the taste of vinegar for $10!
Atmosphere was good, Ambiance was good.
Ever so often they would make a cocktail that had flames so that was always entertaining and i made a promise that i would indeed attempt this flaming cocktail on my next visit.
We did not get to try the food but the menu looked tasty!

Heard about this place a lot on Instagram so as usual it was a must visit but of course with life commitments you tend to call in on it months are your initial thought of visiting!
We got there 10 minutes to 8am on Saturday (because that's when they open) so of course the place was empty except for the staff which was great coz we got to choose a prime position to sit!
I did not realise that the Kitchen was part of the Koskela warehouse where the owners Russel Koskela and Sasha Titchkosky produce "Australian furniture that is beautiful, functional and durable" (taken from their website) .... will you look at that you learn something new everyday!
We ordered the Sourdough pancakes with Lemon Curd $14, Big Breakfast $20 and Eggs benedict/royale $13. Everything was back to basics, you order at the counter then take a number and a seat and they bring it out to you.
In addition, to the usual breakfast menu they also have pastries/cakes on offer if you are not quite hungry.
The cutlery was in an old tomato tin tub which added the rustic look, food was served in tin plates like the kind you take camping.
Food was sensational! My eggs benedict came on a bun and all the sauce and the egg oozed out goodness! I scraped the plate...literally! Pancakes were divine.
After we had finished breakfast we waiting around till 9am as that was the time Koskela opened so we could peruse the designs.
Families and groups are welcome here, Great way to start the weekend!
