This is one of those places that you've been meaning to visit but just haven't got the time or you keep forgetting about it.
So since it was our anniversary dinner I figured why not spoil ourselves with some fine french cuisine. It only dawned upon me on the day of our reservation whilst i was trying to find it on google maps, that I have walked past this place so many times and didn't realise it was under my nose the whole time! Ananas is located above Lowenbrau keller and used to be "Uber bar", Now its more a classy establishment :P with bar and restaurant. Beautiful rustic feel inside and loving the pineapple lamps they have throughout the restaurant! For entree, we had the prawn cocktail, then for mains we both had the Savanah grass fed 300g Sirloin, The Mr had his with Bearnaise sauce and I had mine with the cafe de Paris butter sauce both came with pommes frites. For drinks The Mr had a dirty martini with gin which he proclaimed was the best he ever had! I had the Absolutely Ananas (above picture). For dessert, I had the Ananas 4 ways with coconut mousse and he had the Snickers revolution, Both insanely heavenly! Waiters were very hospitable and french :). Overall we both agreed it was the best anniversary dinner thus far! Address details can be found here: weebly

Located at the carriageworks in Eveleigh, this farmers markets has stalls of organic vegetables, flowers, cheeses, breads, nuts, flavoured olive oils and so forth. In addition, they have the Billy Kwong stall which was the draw card for me as I got to see Kylie Kwong! I have been following her on Instagram for a while and she always posts pictures of their delicious creations they make every Saturday! I had the Steamed pork dumplings with Ginger and Tamarin = Wow! Address can be found here: weebly This stuff is the breakfast of Champions. Alongside oats :P I generally run out of fresh strawberries, so recently bought some frozen ones so i can have them on hand when i feel like something pink! It was delectable! Definitely makes you remember that summer is just round the corner where there will be hot summer days and warm nights. Lately I have been trying to cut down on the junk food and focusing more on food to fuel my body instead of what my mind wants (e.g. chocolate and other unnecessary junk). So here's to summer, Can't hardly wait! Recipe can be found here weebly I read that this bar only opened up sometime last week and decided that it would be the venue for a mini reunion with some of my old bar colleagues. Monday night 6pm, it is pouring with rain and i'm trying to find this place, upon finding it I realised I walked past twice! Its located at 346-348 Kent St (a little alleyway to the right of the building) where you will find this cosy New Orleans/voodoo inspired bar. It was previously a garage but with the way the owners have revamped this bar, it looks like it has been here for years. The seating is quite spacious stools at the bar complete with lounges, bar stools and chairs, so a variety to pick from. Cocktails range between $16-$19 with a tantalizing selection from the traditional Daiquiri (Hemingway style) to the Showchomp Sour (I think that's what it was called). Throughout the night we kept getting complimentary popcorn, burger rings and what tasted like shapes biscuits! Between the 6 girls it kept disappearing as soon as it landed on the table! The owners/bartenders are very attentive with our drinks and snacks, they were very helpful in relation to their cocktails and would check to see if we liked them :) Great hospitality~ If your looking for a new bar to check out or just need a new change of scenery, give Papa Gede's a go and you will not be disappointed! Until the next adventure, Cheerio :D Address details can be found here also: weebly P.s ~ My pics are not the best but if you can see the skull I deem them sufficient! So over the weekend I was suppose to be making Jam but then realised I still had some items to purchase before i could get started! Dang! So instead i made use of use of my juicer and blender and had a strawberry smoothie on Saturday and this Capples juice on Sunday. I basically felt like a cleansing juice and made this. It was delightful! For recipe details click here weebly It rained and poured all weekend here in Sydney, So i hope you had better weather than i did! Who doesn't like smoothies?! It's like the lazy person's go to breakfast, well for me it is! Plus you can get all the goodness of 2 fruits, coconut butter and Almond milk all in one go! I made this on the weekend and it was de-li-ci-ou-s! I call it the Banana Mango Coconut Colada :D For recipe click here: weebly So we ended up going Friday night instead. Wait time of about 10 minutes. We got as follows: Pan fried pork dumplings Shredded beef with steam plain bun Seasonal vegetables stir fry with oyster sauce I have to say this was the first time we ever saw these cute little buns! They were fluffy and still steaming from the oven! Beef was saucy and went perfectly well with the "fluffy puffs" (Yes I just gave them a nickname!) so all in all a great dish! I sometimes feel bad taking photos of food in restaurants especially when the staff stare at you! Alas i still managed to get a few below average shots. Have you visited this place before? Tell me what you think :) Til next time Cheerio! Dumplings, Dumplings and more Dumplings! This place is always busy! So you will expect to wait about 20 minutes plus, although sometimes you get lucky and only have to wait 10! :) Situated in the food court in the Chatswood Chase Shopping centre, this restaurant is decked out in with an oriental theme with artwork all over the walls! The menu is also used as your place-mat! Dim sum, Soup, Cold dish, Vegetable, Rice and Noodles are just some of the main areas on the menu you can order from. We generally tend to order the usual which consists of: - Pan fried pork dumpling (8 pieces) - Dried shrimp & shallots stirred with dry noodle in soy sauce - Beef dumpling (8 pieces) That's generally for 2 people and tends to fill us up! We rarely venture away from what we like but I shall be going again this coming Thursday and I promise to order something new from the menu! scouts honour! Until next time!
